Porter Bennett founded BENTEK in 1985. Over the past 21 years he has led the evolution of the company from an energy industry consulting firm specializing in market and customer analysis to today’s leading energy market information company. In his early career, Mr. Bennett held positions with consulting companies specializing in energy market analysis. He holds a MS Degree in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines, and a MA Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University. He received a BA in History from Lewis & Clark College.

E. Russell Braziel

Rusty Braziel is one of the most respected authorities in the field of energy information systems. With a background in energy marketing, trading, and software, Mr. Braziel founded Altra Energy Technologies and in the late 1990s grew the company to become the second largest independent software company in Houston, Texas. He was previously Vice President of Business Development for The Williams Companies and Vice President of Energy Marketing and Trading for Texaco. Mr. Braziel holds BBA and MBA degrees in Business and Finance from Stephen F. Austin University.

James Simpson
Vice President,
Operations

Jim Simpson has over seven years of experience analyzing and managing energy information and commodity risk in both gas and power. Prior to joining BENTEK, Mr. Simpson modeled large structured transactions in both gas and power for Enron North America. Subsequently he led Natural Gas Marketing and Trading at MarkWest Hydrocarbon, Inc. Mr. Simpson holds a BBA in Finance from Texas A &M University.
